Williamstown learner driver disqualified for three months

Police have cancelled a 21-year-old Williamstown woman’s learner permit after she returned a positive breath test after riding an e-scooter.

Police were called to Webb Street in Fitzroy at about 12.20am after a woman fell from an e-scooter carrying two other women.

The Williamstown woman, who was the main rider of the e-scooter, underwent a breath test and provided an alleged reading of 0.036, which was above her zero limit being a learner driver.

Police immediately cancelled her learner permit and disqualified her from driving for three months.

The intercept was part of Operation Arid, the state-wide road policing operation aiming to reduce road trauma and lives lost on Victoria’s roads over the Labour Day long weekend.
