Footscray theft in broad daylight

Police have released images of the man and woman involved in the incident.

Police are seeking for a man and and a woman to come forward in relation to theft of property from a parked car in Footscray on Thursday, March 23.

Footage shows the man and woman approaching a black 2023 MG sedan which was parked on Barkly Street at 4pm on on Thursday, March 23, before they used a claw hammer to smash a hole in the front passenger window.

Police said the woman reached in and attempted to open the door, with the man then used the hammer again and completely smashed the window out, before handing the hammer to the woman.

The footage shows the man jumping into the front of the car and removing items, handing them to the woman, with both then walking east along Barkly Street.

The male is described as about 30 years old with red hair and a beard and was wearing a blue Tommy Hilfiger hoodie, blue Tommy Hilfiger tracksuit pants, Nike basketball shoes and a black peaked cap at the time of the incident.

The female is described as about 30 years old with brown hair and red highlights and was wearing a black hoodie and black activewear at the time of the incident.
