The water works continue on

On Wednesday, May 24, Maribyrnong Aquatic Centre received the slide components for the current splash park project.

Maribyrnong Aquatic Centre received an exciting new delivery earlier this week.

The slide components for two water slides have been delivered ready for installation as part of our brand new 400 square metre splash park project.

Council announced in May 2021 it would be constructing a new splash park and watersides as well as an interactive aquatic leisure area at Maribyrnong Aquatic Centre (MAC).

Allmore Constructions Pty Ltd began construction in late November 2022, with the project now due for completion late 2023, ahead of summer.

Current works on the project include excavation of the site and other base ground works.

The finished product will be a 400 square metre splash park with two watersides, equipped with change rooms.

The change rooms will also be incorporated in a new change village with wet, dry and accessible rooms.

There will also be new site sheds and fencing along the eastern side of the Centre that borders Maribyrnong Secondary College.

This is an $8 million redevelopment, jointly funded by the state government and council.
