Twnety-five new jobs have been created following the opening of IFC Global Logistics & Warehousing’s new head office and distribution centre in Altona.

Managing director Renzo Benvinetto was joined by Williamstown MP Melissa Horne and councillor Peter Hemphill, saying it was a very exciting opening for everyone involved.

“It went better than expected , it was a really great morning with all 160 people,” he said.

“It was great for the staff to meet a lot of the clients , and get to know the wider company.”

The business has grown substantially since its beginning in North Melbourne with three staff in 1991, with the first employee and still remaining.

The current Altona site, 10-20 Jordan Close, Altona was built 17 years ago with 76 staff currently employed.

IFC purchased the greenfield site next door at 35 Jordan Close, Altona.

The completion of the build will triple its capacity of 15,000 to 45,000 pallet locations allowing it to employ an additional 25 local residents as staff.

“It gives us a lot more capacity and the opportunity to employ locals, we just love the area,” he said.
