From Saturday, June 17, to Saturday, July 1, the Footscray CBD will transform to become a playground of pop-up festivities and events, the Sleepless Footscray Festival.
Stargazed Productions and the Maribyrnong council have come together once again to bring together a festival like no other.
Stargazed Records is an audiovisual record label and events and production company based in Footscray who curate and create Immersive Concerts, Digital Artworks, Mixed Reality Experiences, Virtual reality Films, Virtual Reality Streamed Concerts, and Mixed Media Installations.
The Sleepless Festival is a community arts festival which puts on display the artistic talents and expressive identity of the large and talented Footscray community.
Visitors can expect to see the familiar hidden alleys transform into inviting nightscapes, their familiar venues host adventurous events, and unused buildings re imagined as creative hubs of art and performance.
Shops along the streets will open up at night to host workshops and parties, while theatre, music, art and entertainment activate public spaces as locations for joy and learning.
The two-week event will feature mostly free events and experiences including the live music safari on Saturday, June 17, several art installations and augmented reality experiences.
There will also be some events across the duration of the festival that require tickets to be purchased in advance.
