Scienceworks in Spotswood is calling kids and adults to join them to celebrate National Science Week running from August 12-20.
Energy is a Superpower is one of three events to be held on Saturday, August 19 ,from 10.30am-3pm.
Scienceworks describes this as a workshop for girls and non-binary people aged from ten to 12-years-old, who can apply their STEM skills in this half-day workshop which explores the many forms of energy.
The event will run through shows and STEM activities where participants will learn about different sources of energy and ways that energy can be utilised, while considering the environmental impact.
The Melbourne Planetarium will show film screenings after hours for adults with Planetarium Nights.
These shows will run on Friday, August 11 and 18 from 7.30-9pm.
Ticket to the Universe will show at 7.30pm, for a presenter-led tour through the universe.
At 9pm, award-winning German composer Robot Koch and French visual artist Mickael le Goff will present Sphere: deep, synth-driven.
Endless Universe is the final activity to run on Saturday, August 26, at 7pm and 9pm.
Scienceworks said this explores cosmic sustainability through an entirely unique and profoundly moving lens.
This will be an immersive full dome presentation where music and philosophy meet astrophysics.
Creative director, writer and singer Jenna Robertson’s new work will make its Melbourne debut for National Science Week 2023 in collaboration with astronomers from the Melbourne Planetarium.
