Small business grant opportunity

In honour of their upcoming 15th anniversary, BizCover has announced the return of the 51st BizGiver grant program for small businesses including those in Maribyrnong and Hobsons Bay.

Instead of the usual $2,000 grant, BizCover is upping the stakes with a $5,000 award to one outstanding small business owner.

Held twice a year, BizGiver shines a spotlight on the dedication, passion and relentless spirit that small business owners pour into making their dreams a reality.

Since its inception, BizGiver has helped small business grow by awarding almost $100,000 in goods and services.

Ellen Burns, the owner of We Bar None, a health-conscious snack firm, was the winner of the 36th BizGiver grant said, “There are very few grants available for micro-businesses.”

Ellen’s wish was granted in the form of a much-needed laptop, facilitating her operations after transitioning to 100% home compostable packaging.

Last year’s BizGiver winner, Georgi from Paid 4 U Café, also highlighted the grant’s community impact.

“Paid 4 U Café is all about community support and services. Winning this grant will also spread awareness of our business, and more people will come to know about our project,” said Georgi.

The BizGiver grant program welcomes entries from all small business owners, regardless of their association with BizCover.

Small business owners looking to take a leap can enter by simply recording a one-minute video wishing for a product or service that would elevate their business or ease their journey. The competition is open now and closes on the October 20.

Finalists will be released on November 14, and the winner will be announced on the November 22.
