Second round of grant opportunities open

The second round of grants have been announced for the Air Quality Improvement Precincts grants , designed by the state government to help businesses in Melbourne’s inner west reduce air pollution.

The grant aims to reduce dust and smoke polluting the air by delivering grants of up to $100,000.

Up to $1 million in grants will be allocated to businesses located or operating in the west.

The establishment of Air Quality Improvement Precincts is part of the federal governments Clean Air for all Victorians, Victoria’s Air Quality Strategy, Victoria’s first overarching plan to address air pollution.

Clean Air for all Victorians was released in 2022 and sets out the state governments approach to reducing air pollution.

The second round of the grants build on the climate change agenda, as the state continues to transition towards renewable energy and zero emissions vehicles which will also contribute to improving air quality.

A free online information session to learn more about eligibility for the Air Quality Improvement Precincts grants and applying will be held on Wednesday, October 11, from 11am to 12pm.
