Summer in the bay heats up

Hobsons Bay council has planned for a free and low-cost activities in Hobsons Bay across January and February this summer.

Summer in the Bay 2024 will include but is not limited to, the youth services summer holiday activities, from arts and crafts to sports and op shopping.

The council said registrations are essential for the youth services activities but there will be many other drop-in opportunities.

According to the council, Summer in the Bay 2024 caters to a variety of interests and offers something for all young people in Hobsons Bay.

Hobsons Bay Youth Services offers activities every school holidays, but Summer in the Bay 2024 is a new initiative where council have compiled a booklet to include activities organised by teams across the council as well as activities on offer in the broader community.

While the youth services summer holiday activities are targeted to those aged 12-17 years, there are plenty of activities for young adults and families.

It includes active sport-based, relaxing, and social and creative activities, which helps cater for young people with varied interests.

Hobsons Bay mayor Matt Tyler said, “this is a great program right across Hobsons Bay to give all young people the chance to come along, have fun, make some friends and do something different in their holiday time.”
