Series to provide springboard into summer

With November here, Maribyrnong council is hoping to inspire local residents to spring into the summer months with a new physical activity program.

The Spring into Summer Series is a free active Maribyrnong program featuring a variety of physical pursuits and wellbeing initiatives delivered over a four week period across November and December.

The series began on Monday, November 11, with activities ranging from Tai Chi at Maidstone Community Centre, and Table Tennis at RecWest, Braybrook, through to boxing bootcamps and pilates at Maribyrnong Aquatic Centre.

Yoga, cardio tennis, Zumba, muay thai, running, walking football and lawn bowls are among the broad range of activities of other activities to be offered until the series concludes on Sunday, December 8.

Each day of the week will feature several different activities at venues across the municipality, with the earliest beginning at 9.30am in the morning and the latest finishing 12 hours later.

Each program will be held weekly at the same location throughout the month and all are led by qualified and experienced local health, fitness, and sports professionals, with offerings suitable for all ages and fitness levels.

Coinciding with the first week of the Spring into Summer Series, is another activity program aimed at local residents, Maribyrnong Girls Can.

Maribyrnong Girl Can offers free, daily fitness programs tailored specifically for women and girls until Sunday, November 17.
