Two crew members sustained injuries to their eyes when a laser was shone at the police helicopter above Footscray early on Sunday morning.
The helicopter was flying above the Footscray area just after midnight on November 17 when the incident allegedly occurred.
Air Wing officers directed police on the ground to a Footscray address shortly after where a 53 year old man was interviewed and a laser seized from his address.
The Footscray man was then arrested and is expected to be charged on summons at a later date with endangering the safe operation of an aircraft, possessing a dangerous article, reckless conduct endangering life, recklessly causing injury and assault emergency worker.
The two injured crew members received medical treatment following the incident.
