Williamstown has won consecutive premierships in the AFL Victoria development league. The Seagulls booted five goals to one in the final term of Sunday’s grand final to beat Box Hill Hawks by 35 points at North Port Oval. Dylan Conway was magnificent for the Seagulls with eight goals, while Shaun Wyatt added five. Jake Greiser, Michael Gibbons and Josh Bench were the other stand-outs for the Gulls.

It was a one-two finish for local clubs in the Football Federation Victoria women’s state league 4 west. Maidstone United was a runaway premier with 54 points
and a goal difference of plus-93. United got it done at both ends, finishing with 99 goals and conceding six. Yarraville Glory finished second on the ladder, eight points behind Maidstone.

WRFL

Spotswood has won the Western Region Football League under-18 division 1 premiership with a 22-point win over Werribee Districts at Chirnside Park on Saturday. The Woodsmen were led superbly by Bryce Williams, Charles Bettiol and Sam Davis. Bettiol snared three goals. St Albans secured its first piece of silverware in almost a decade when it beat Sunshine by 19 points to claim the WRFL division 1 reserves premiership.
