Ballet has come to Hobsons Bay courtesy of Altona’s Louis Joel Community Arts Centre and renowned Chinese dancer and teacher Nancy Wang.

The principal of the well-known Lotus Style Art Bilingual Kindergarten in Beijing but also a respected former dance teacher at Bailie Academy, Wang is now bringing her considerable expertise to residents in Hobsons Bay who want to give ballet a go.

Wang’s teaching style is known to combine enthusiasm, rigor, and meticulous care, enabling her to tailor her teaching strategies precisely to the needs of different students, and creating a classroom environmentconducive to relaxed learning.

Her teaching results have not only been highly praised by students and parents but have also been recognized by the leadership and colleagues at Bailie Academy, earning her a reputation as a true exemplar of teaching and nurturing students.

And while ballet is a particularly demanding form of dance most suited to children and adolescents and young adults, Wang’s classes are open to anyone, allowing students with no prior dance experience to master basic dance moves and perform dances.

Along with ballet, Wang merges elements of Chinese classical dance into her lessons, offering students a novel learning experience in dance.

Whatever the style, Wang’s teaching is known to not only impart skills, but also a deep-seated passion for the art of dance in the hearts of her students.

And all this for a donation of between $2 and $5!

Wang’s dance classes are on Wednesdays at 1pm at Louis Joel Arts & Community in Altona.
