Footscray aggravated burglary arrest

A man has been arrested after an aggravated burglary in Footscray early on Tuesday morning.

Police responded to reports of an aggravated burglary at an address on Barkly Street at 12.22am on 21 October.

A short time later officers assisted by the police dog unit arrested a man near the victim’s address and seized a laptop he’d allegedly stolen during the burglary.

It is alleged the offender entered the premises by smashing a window and unlocking the back door.

Two residents were home at the time but were not injured.

A 32-year-old St Albans man will be interviewed by investigators.
