Hobsons Bay dogs to have their day

As the saying goes, every dog has its day and in Williamstown, that day is Sunday 30 November.

That’s the day that the Rotary Club of Point Gellibrand will be holding its annual Dog Day in Dog Town event at Commonwealth Reserve in Nelson Place.

The event will consist of competitions for children, adults and, of course, dogs.

These include contests for cutest dog, smallest dog, best costume, best lookalike dog and owner, most obedient, biggest dog, best fairy and best owner and dog dress up, just to name a few.

It’s only $30 for adults and $20 for children to enter competitions with their dogs, with each participant allowed to enter up to three competitions.

For those who just want to come along and enjoy a fun family day in the sun, entry is free.

There will also be non-canine themed entertainment on offer too, with a magician performing tricks and demonstrations.

Doggie bags will be presented to each participant, while competition winners can look forward to some great prizes as well.

All money raised from Dog Day in Dog Town will go towards the various local charities supported by the Rotary Club of Point Gellibrand.

So bring your friends, bring your kids, and most importantly, bring your beloved pooch to this event on the Williamstown waterfront, which runs from 10am to 3pm.

All dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a leash at all times.
