A familiar face will take on the coaching role for Braybrook in next year’s Western Netball League competition.
The Brookers announced that Brandon D’Monte will be the side’s coach heading into next year’s season.
“The news you’ve all been waiting for,” the club said. “Now, you would have seen him around this year whilst he stepped in and guided our program, and we are so excited to have him full time next season.
“B will be overseeing the entirety of our netball program, offering guidance, support, and expertise across all levels. His leadership and deep understanding of the game will be invaluable as we continue to grow and strengthen our program.”
D’Monte has 18 years of netball experience both as a player and as a coach in Australia and New Zealand.
“B brings a wealth of elite-level knowledge and dedication to the game,” the Brookers said. “He has represented Victoria at the state level for 14 years and played for the Australian team for three years, as well as the New Zealand men’s team for one year.
“His M-League experience is equally impressive, with 11 years in the premier division and three years in division 1.
The Brookers had three sides this season with its division 7 claiming the premiership 25-20 against Glen Orden.
As well as having women’s sides, the club is among seven clubs to express its interest in having a side in the inaugural men’s competition.
It will be the first men’s competition to be run as part of a football and netball competition in Victoria.
Trail information will be available shortly, while the club is taking expressions of interest for both women’s and men’s teams.
