Woman tasered

Police tasered a woman who was allegedly threatening another woman with a knife in Altona North on Tuesday morning. Police were called to a bus stop in Millers Road, near Altona Gate Shopping Centre, where two women were involved in an altercation. A Victoria Police spokeswoman said the armed woman refused to co-operate with police, who then used capsicum spray. When that failed to have any effect, they used a taser gun on the woman. She was taken to hospital for treatment.

Water works for Anderson Street

City West Water will start water main renewal works in Anderson Street, Yarraville, from next Wednesday. The works will run from the railway crossing to Ballarat Street and are expected to take five weeks. Carparking spaces will be reduced and delays are expected for motorists.

Dog leash signs ‘ambiguous’

Hobsons Bay council issued 31 warnings along Williamstown Beach in January and February for people walking their dogs without leashes. The council held a meeting on Monday where it was acknowledged that signs designating on-leash areas were ambiguous.

Millers Road delays probed

VicRoads is investigating traffic delays along Millers Road, believed to be caused by the timing of traffic lights. Hobsons Bay council said the work was still in the diagnostic stage.
