Footscray in spotlight: West Projections focus on creative spaces

Creative spaces in Footscray will light up after dark over the next two weeks as part of the first West Projections.

Organiser Chantal Wynter said local artists had created a series of projections of characters – real and imagined – using video, images and animation.

They will be beamed at locations including Maddern Square, Trocadero Artspace and Ruffian Gallery.

“It’s an extension of the Footscray Arts Crawl I organised last year,” she says. Projections will take place after dark from Thursday to Saturday and June 12-14.

The free series will be launched at Ruffian Gallery at 7.30pm this Friday. For more details, visit www.onfootscray.blogspot.com.au
