Williamstown made it 11 consecutive wins against Werribee after edging out its Victorian Football League rival by nine points on Sunday.
Both teams went into the game at Burbank Oval in outstanding form, but it was Werribee that made the most of its early chances.
First-quarter goals to Ben Brown, Ben Warren, Kieran Harper and Jye Bolton allowed the Tigers to open up an eight-point lead at quarter-time.

The Seagulls weren’t without their chances in front of the big sticks and were left to rue a wasteful two goals from eight scoring shots.
That inaccuracy continued during the second term, with Werribee able to stay in front despite having just three scoring shots to Williamstown’s six.
The shackles were far from lifted after half-time, with majors still at a premium.
But in front of their home fans, Williamstown’s players were able to find another gear.
Having trailed by one point at three- quarter-time, the Seagulls hit the lead early in the final term after a good passage of play from Jack Dorgan allowed Nicholas Sing to mark and goal.
That gave the Seagulls the lead. The margin was soon extended after Ed Carr roved a ball in the pocket and snapped truly.
Werribee wasn’t about to give up without a fight and cut the eight-point margin to just two points with a goal to Jason Robinson.
But it was Williamstown that came out on top, with former Tiger turned Seagull Scott Clouston kicking a goal against his old team to seal the 9.20 (74) to 9.11 (65) win.
Fresh from his dominant display against the South Australian National Football League in the state representative game, Adam Marcon was again brilliant and clearly among the best players for the Seagulls.
He was well supported by Clouston, who finished with two goals, while Ben Jolley also worked hard.
For Werribee, on a day when goals were hard to come by, Warren worked hard up forward and finished with three majors.
Williamstown (6-3) held onto third spot on the VFL ladder, while the Tigers slipped to sixth.
The Seagulls hit the road to take on Box Hill Hawks when round 10 gets under way on Saturday.
Werribee will look to force its way back into the top four when it hosts Essendon at Avalon Airport Oval on Sunday.
