Your chance to ’fess up in public at Altona confessional

From the sublime to the ridiculous, people’s messages on Altona’s ‘Clear your Conscience’ confessional board provide an insight into people’s private lives.

The board, part of Hobsons Bay’s Art in Public Places program, is a hit with passers-by.

People have been encouraged to write their secrets on a magnet to stick to the board and read the revelations of others.

Messages posted last week included the philosophical: “Life is 10 per cent what happened to you and 90 per cent what [how] you respond to it”.

And many revealed aspects of day-to-day life, from “Missed gym for five days” to “I’m a one-eyed Bulldogs supporter”.

The board will be at the corner of Pier and Blyth streets until the end of this month.
