Fast-paced entertainment and a new twist to the food court met at Highpoint shopping centre recently to celebrate the unveiling of a new casual dining precinct.
Transforming the traditional fast food court concept, the new Level One dining zone transports the flavours of Asia to a 3000sqm area with six new restaurants seating 800 people.
Highpoint divisional director Ben Gill said the new casual dining precinct delivers a mix of restaurants that have been handpicked for menus and flavours that are both exciting and reflective of the diverse community of Melbourne’s west.
Centred around a sweeping retractable staircase, the restaurants include Ajisen Ramen, Dumplings Plus, NeNe Chicken, Roti Road, Saigon Square and Tina’s Noodle Kitchen.
To mark the Level One opening, Highpoint hosted Electrics Fields, a three-day festival packed full of ‘Asian-city-inspired’ live music, entertainment, food and game shows.
Electric Fields celebrated all things light and bright, with activities including neon light installations, ‘The Whacky Japanese Super Fun Happy Game Time Show’ including Sumo Wrestling and Wasabi Roulette, street food carts and pedal powered rickshaws.
A K-POP (Korean Pop) extravaganza featured performances by Korean-Australian singer-songwriter and X Factor Australia season five winner Dami Im, who will be joined by future Australian K-Pop superstar, 16-year-old Erin Miranda.
