Stories were told, cartoons were drawn and books were given away
to lucky children at the grand opening of 100 Story Building in
Footscray last Saturday.
Designed especially for children, the centre in Nicholson Street
Mall aims to begin a new chapter in literacy and publishing for young
people in the west, particularly children from diverse and disadvantaged
communities.
Launching the centre, program director and co-founder Lachlann
Carter said the chance to have a space dedicated to young
people was the culmination of years of work and planning.
100 Story Building is on the lookout for volunteers and has a series of coming workshops available.
