A brush with the law has brought new life to the Horn of Africa community centre in Footscray courtesy of a fresh coat of paint.
Maribyrnong police officers rolled up their sleeves alongside members of the African-Australian community to give the centre a makeover inside and out.
Among them were Deng Malith, from the community centre, and Senior Constable Ash Dixit.
The aim of the project was to strengthen relationships between police and new and emerging communities. Dulux supplied the paint and equipment.
