COOPER Vuna was the main attraction in Footscray’s hard-fought 17-8 win over Melbourne Unicorns on Saturday in the Victorian Rugby Union premier division at Henry Turner Reserve.
Vuna, a star with the Melbourne Rebels in Super Rugby, lined up at outside centre for the Bulldogs and had an impact in the nine-point win.
The Bulldogs are one of the form teams of Victoria’s top-flight rugby competition, claiming four wins on the trot and moving up to third on the ladder.
One try from hooker Siosiua Ngauamo and four penalty goals by fly-half Martin Naufahu was all the Bulldogs needed to win a low-scoring affair.
The Bulldogs will have a week off for the Queen’s Birthday before lining up against struggling Melbourne University on June 15.
Meanwhile, the Victorian state team recorded a 47-11 win against South Australia at AAMI Park on Friday night.
Bulldogs flanker Tim Diack came off the bench and made his presence felt for the Big V.
