Gallery: Dressing up at Altona Primary School

ALTONA Primary School children this week dressed up in something related to the letter ‘B’ to raise money for the Ugandan town of Bwindi.

The fund-raiser will help pay for water, power, flushing toilets and other infrastructure that Aussie kids take for granted.

In August 2012, three woman from Altona’s Louis Joel Arts and Community Centre visited the HIV-ravaged country to establish a women’s sewing project.

Tricia Salau, Kim Reilly and Jill Bilston taught sewing skills to The Ride 4 A Woman co-operative, helping create a micro-business so the women can feed their families.

Money raised by the Altona students will also be donated to the women’s sewing centre.
