WILLIAMSTOWN continued on its merry way in the Lacrosse Victoria men’s state league.
The Fearons ran riot after quarter-time to thrash Caulfield 18-6 on the road at Caulfield Park on Saturday.
After a tight opening, which saw the teams end the first period two apiece, the Fearons scored 16 of the last 20 goals. The Fearons, last year’s title winners, are one of two unbeaten sides.
Footscray led Surrey Park after one period at Mont Albert Reserve, but the Scray could manage only three goals in the final three terms and lost 12-6.
In division 1, Altona buried Malvern early with eight first-half goals in a 12-8 victory.
In the women’s state league, Williamstown edged out Eastside 10-7 at Greenwich Reserve. — Lance Jenkinson
