Williamstown lost to Kew by seven wickets in the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association north-west group third XI grand final last weekend, managing 149 off 69.4 overs with a top score of 45 not out from middle-order batsman Sam Davis.

Rugby Union

Footscray has reappointed Junior Naufahu as coach of the premier division Victorian Rugby Union team, with assistance from Mick Fleming, former Moorabbin assistant coach, and Nic Henderson, a Melbourne Rebels Super Rugby player who played three Wallabies internationals.

Golf

Kooringal made it two wins in Golf Victoria men’s division 3 pennant, downing Long Island 4-3. Medway lost 4-3 to Rossdale in men’s division 4, but in women’s division 4 Medway holds top spot, having beaten Peninsula 5-2. Kooringal blitzed Waverley 5-2 for their first season win.

Basketball

Altona Lady Gators went hard against Craigieburn Eagles in Sunday’s Big V women’s division 1 match but lost 81-69, while in men’s division 1, the Gators lost 88-75 to the Craigieburn Eagles.
