Lacrosse: West is best in women’s world as local ladies dominate national squad

West is best when it comes to women’s lacrosse. No fewer than six western suburbs players have been selected to represent Australia at the 2013 Women’s World Cup in Canada in July.

The local players selected were Stacey Morlang, Steph McNamara and Lyndsey Paton (all members of the Newport Ladies team that swooped on the state league title last year), Marlee Paton, a former Newport player now in the United State college system, and Sarah Mollison and Abbie Burgess, both out of Footscray.
