Company fined over Maribyrnong River oil spill

FCL Interstate Transport Services in West Melbourne has been ordered by Melbourne Magistrates Court to pay $75,000 towards an environmental project after a 2009 oil spill into the Maribyrnong River. 

The company pleaded guilty after about 2250 litres of oily water had to be vacuumed from the river. It was ordered to pay EPA Victoria’s legal costs of $14,895.
