Braybrook Maidstone Neighbourhood House has its own veggie garden after a sustainability makeover from Bunnings Warehouse Maribyrnong and Sunshine.
Bunnings workers were on hand on Thursday to prepare the garden and help residents discover the benefits of growing their own vegetables and herbs. Joan Greig and Vivienne Conn are pictured taking care of the seedlings.
Maribyrnong complex manager Jason Menzel said his team was excited to be part of the wheelchair-friendly garden project. “Gardening is a great way to get outside and enjoy the fresh air. We think the residents will have a wonderful time.”
Bunnings also helped install a water tank, pump and compost turner to keep the garden thriving.
