Students: it’s time to get physical

IT has been more than a decade in the waiting but students at the Western English Language School finally have a new gymnasium.

The Braybrook school didn’t hesitate in deciding how to use the $932,500 windfall from the federal government’s $16billion Building the Education Revolution  program.

School principal Yolette DeZilwa said she was thrilled students now had a facility for physical education and sporting classes.  “There was no way we could have raised the funding to allow us to build a gym,” she said.

Visiting the new gym on Thursday, Gellibrand MP Nicola Roxon said projects such as gyms, libraries and science labs were improving the learning environment for children.
