FORMER Victoria University (Footscray) student Tarren Otte was part of the Australian synchronised team which finished eighth in the teams free routine.
It came on top of an eighth finish (out of eight) in the technical routine final.
In the free routine, the Australians scored 77.430 behind gold medalists Russia, which had 98.930.
