London 2012: Farzad Tarash rapt in ‘valuable experience’

THE blink-and-you’ll-miss-it Olympics campaign of local wrestler Farzad Tarash was over in just four minutes. Australia’s only wrestling competitor was comprehensively beaten 3-0 5-0 by North Korea’s world No.25 Jong Myong Ri in the 60kg freestyle at ExCel in London on Saturday.

Tarash – who trains in Seddon and went to Maribyrnong College – told reporters after the bout that it was a ‘‘dream come true’’ to represent Australia in London.

The Sydenham man said the experience at the top level would be invaluable for the rest of his career.
