Glen Iris man on murder charge

Police have charged a Glen Iris man, Peter Joseph Tiberi, 25, with the murder of Maribyrnong man Yengo Faugere.

The partial remains of Mr Faugere, 23, were found in StLeonards on February 7 when police raided a property as part of a clandestine drug laboratory operation.

In Melbourne Magistrates Court last Tuesday, the man was remanded in custody to face a committal mention in the same court in November.

Mr Faugere was last seen at his Macedon Street home in Maribyrnong in the early hours of October 20.

Detective Inspector John Potter said police believed he may have been kidnapped and taken to the Mansfield area.

They are seeking information about a 2010 white Toyota Hiace van and a 1992 white Nissan Navara utility seen in the Mansfield area. Information to Crime Stoppers, 1800333000, or crimestoppers.com.au.
