Charity begins in a mixing bowl

THERE’S nothing half-baked about Emily Rollis and Ellen Hall’s plans to raise money for a Cambodian village.

Proceeds from their Cupcakes for Cambodia market stall at this Saturday’s Yarraville Markets will go towards their projects at a village near Siem Reap at the end of the year.

The pair are being placed in work teams through the World Challenge organisation.

Emily, of Essendon, will be part of a team taking part in a hands-on building project for a school.

Ellen, of North Fitzroy, will be involved in building as well as providing English lessons and sports activities for the village children.

At the market stall, they hope to tempt those with a sweet tooth and a generous heart to support their work.

All money raised from the cupcake sale will go towards materials for the projects.

Ellen said they were both excited about interacting with the local people and helping them in any way.

The Yarraville Markets are open from 10am-5pm on the second weekend each month at the Masonic Hall in Willis Street.
