Braybrook pupils explore world beyond words

Braybrook pupils have unveiled a colourful array of Japanese-inspired artworks in an exhibition dubbed In Other Words.

Prep to grade 2 Dinjerra Primary School pupils, including Emi, Tial Tin Par and Hassan (pictured), are sharing their stories, mixing film, illustration and performance for their kamishibai (‘paper theatre’) presentations.

The exhibition of 60 artworks was launched yesterday by Bernard Caleo, a comic creator and storyteller who introduced the pupils to kamishibai.

Short films depicting their work were shown to family members and other pupils last night and will screen in Federation Square later this year.
