New learning centre art of Spotswood school upgrade

Children at St Margaret Mary’s Primary School in Spotswood no longer have to take art classes in the corridor thanks to a new $925,000 learning centre. Pupils, including Caius (pictured front), Marcus (left), Lauren and Katie last week met federal Gellibrand MP Nicola Roxon at the official opening. The centre, funded under the government’s Building Education Revolution program, has a new computer lab, renovated library and art room. Principal Andrew Leighton said the school was grateful for the investment. “Along with the new art space, we’ve also received a new library and computer lab, built a disabled toilet, purchased mobile interactive whiteboards and revamped our staff room. The students love the new space and our art teacher now has a dedicated space to house materials and hold her classes.”
