Altona Magic has moved swiftly to replace Zoran Trajcevski following his resignation from the Football Federation Victoria men’s state league 1 club.
The Magic has agreed to terms with former Socceroo John Markovski, who will take control of his first game against Western Suburbs at Paisley Park Soccer Complex on Saturday.
Trajcevski’s departure comes after the Magic’s 1-0 loss to Port Melbourne Sharks, which sees them sitting on the bottom of the ladder with just one point in five games.
Markovski is no stranger to the Magic having played with the club in the mid-1990s.
The 42-year-old managed 19 international caps with the Socceroos and had a long and illustrious career in the National Soccer League with multiple clubs.
More recently, Markovski has coached Preston Lions, Sunshine George Cross and Fawkner Blues in the Victorian Premier League.
Markovski was introduced to the Magic squad at training tonight.
