MARIBYRNONG Council’s master plan to turn central Footscray into a “university town” with urban parks and a pedestrian and cycling-friendly business district was signed off at last week’s City Development Special Committee meeting.
The plan includes more urban parks, trees, public art and recreation space.

VicRoads and the Department of Transport have objected to efforts to reduce truck traffic on Moore Street and create bus stops to interchange with Footscray station.
Works will be considered for the 2012-13 budget.
