FOOTSCRAY Edgewater went down swinging to Dandenong in the Victorian Premier Cricket second XI quarter-final at Merv Hughes Oval last weekend.
The Bulldogs were left to rue a disastrous first innings batting display on Saturday when they were rolled for a meek 104 in 45 overs.
The Panthers had their struggles in response, all out for 141 but crucially holding a 37-run lead.
The Doggies had to react, and fast, and launched a 30-over assault on the visitors’ bowling for a whirlwind 4-215 declared.
It proved too little, too late as the Panthers held their nerve with the bat to survive the remaining 69 overs on 7-160.
