THE universal language of food will be used to celebrate Maribyrnong’s melting pot of cultural diversity this week. Cultural Diversity Week, which runs until this Sunday, includes a tour of places of worship, a series of bilingual storytime sessions, and a women-only swim night at the Maribyrnong Aquatic Centre. On Saturday, Footscray library will host an afternoon of international music, dance, food tasting and new books. Wrapping up the week will be the Harmony Feast at the Maidstone Community Centre on Sunday from noon-3pm. Now in its third year, Harmony Feast also helps people learn cooking skills and shows how easy and affordable it is to access healthy foods.
