POLICE are continuing the lengthy task of sifting through hundreds of suspected stolen items recovered during a raid on a West Footscray property on Friday.
A 42-year-old West Footscray man has been bailed to appear in court on a series of charges associated with about 1000 thefts from cars.
Constable Andrew Priestley said the charges related to thefts in the Seddon, Yarraville, Kingsville and Spotswood areas during the past 12 months.
“We are still sorting through all the property that was seized, trying to find the owners wherever we can,” he said.
Police recovered a treasure trove of stolen items including mobile phones, power adaptors, cameras and tools.
They estimate the value of the goods to be about $100,000.
