Williamstown ‘ghost host’ and writer Jacqueline Travaglia (pictured with fellow guide Andrew Wishart in Williamstown morgue) is inviting people to experience The Old Melbourne Ghost Tour as part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival, running from September 26-October 14. Williamstown’s Lantern Ghost Tours is taking people back to a time when the spices of Chinatown mixed with smoke from opium dens, when poor houses supplied bodies to advance medical science. Guests will also visit Princess Theatre where opera singer Federici (aka Frederick Baker) literally died in front of his audience. “The unique tour will give Melburnians a view into the darker side of Melbourne,” Ms Travaglia says. Tours are run by Melbourne actors including Underbelly’s Jeremy Kewley and comedian Ross Daniels. They depart from Federation Square at 8.30pm and 10.30pm on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
