Hobsons Bay Council legal stoush costs soar

LEGAL costs in a feud between Hobsons Bay mayor Tony Briffa and Cr Peter Hemphill have blown out to more than $110,000.

The Hemphill v Briffa saga has escalated to a serious misconduct allegation being heard at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.

Cr Briffa has spent $94,516.88, while Cr Hemphill has spent $15,829.99. Cr Briffa’s costs are being claimed under the council’s liability insurance.
