ABORIGINAL singer Shellie Morris will share stories of her life at a performance during this month’s Arts at Your Doorstep in Williamstown.
The songwriter and storyteller (pictured) will perform earthy and “honest” (unplugged) acoustic ballads about her life and the things that inspire her.
Morris sings with the Black Arm Band, which includes Australia’s top indigenous artists and jazz musicians. She also travels extensively in outback Australia and has performed at the Sydney Opera House and London’s Festival Hall.
Arts at Your Doorstep is Hobsons Bay Council’s annual performing arts program which brings a variety of artists to the municipality.
The program includes children’s theatre, performances by National Theatre Ballet, the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra, comedian Josh Earl and a cabaret show. Morris will perform at the Williamstown Mechanics Institute on April 19 at 7.30pm.
