THE Newport office of federal Broadband Minister Stephen Conroy has missed out on the first phase of the national broadband network rollout, as have most Hobsons Bay homes.
Residents of Altona, Altona Meadows, Altona North, Spotswood, Laverton and Williamstown will miss out, although those in nearby Brooklyn and Kingsville South have been included in the three-year rollout plan for high-speed fibre broadband.

Hobsons Bay councillor for Altona North ward Michael Raffoul said: “It’s unfortunate, but we have to be patient.
“I’m sure the minister wants it as much as anybody else does.”
