Yarraville Club’s opening-round match against St Bernard’s Old Collegians in the Victorian Turf Cricket Association senior division ended in an edge-of-your-seat tie.
The Clubbers restricted the Snowdogs to 9-154 off 40 overs after Richard Sherlock ripped through the lower order by taking 4-24.
An attainable target run rate of 3.85 was set for the Clubbers, but they endured a stop-start run chase and had to be content with a share of the points.
Skipper Justin Baker (41), Sherlock (39) and Andrew Cullen (32) were the leading runscorers.
In north division, Spotswood and Altona North rekindled an old rivalry, with the Woodsmen claiming a 57-run win.
Laverton (4-124) is up and about after a comfortable six-wicket win over Williamstown CYMS (120).
