Volunteer community group Transition Hobsons Bay is hosting an event for locals with a passion for recycling waste materials that would otherwise go to landfill.
Speakers will include Mike Hewitt from Altona’s recently formed Electronics Club, who will speak about reusing electronic components from household items such as computers; Paul Richards, who makes vegetable plots using printer pallets; and Liz Kasell, who is involved in transforming food wrappers and thermal underwear into outdoor furniture.
The event will be held at Altona library on October 24 at 6.30pm. Entry is by a gold coin donation or a plate to share.
