Premier Cricket: Footscray Edgewater well on top

Footscray Edgewater has laid the ground- work for what should be a sixth win in seven Premier Cricket starts.

The Bulldogs restricted Frankston Peninsula to 166 in 68.5 overs. Jake Haberfield took 3-46 off 21 overs.

Michael Kelly finished with 2-32 off 12, while Sunam Gautam snared 2-10 off 3.5.

Ducks to Anthony Barton and Travis Dean created a bit of uncertainty at the top of the Bulldogs’ batting order.

Skipper Dean Russ steadied the ship with 47 not out in the Dogs’ 2-56 at stumps.

They will continue the chase on Saturday, needing a further 111 runs.
