AFL draft: Western Bulldogs pick Bontempelli

The Western Bulldogs have chosen 194-centimetre Marcus Bontempelli as it first round draft pick at 4.

The Bulldogs are hoping the tall, running half-back from the Northern Knights will develop into a super-sized midfielder.

 He has a big body, excellent vision in traffic and has been likened to Magpies star Scott Pendlebury.

The Bulldogs also selected Matthew Fuller at pick 42 and MItch Honeychurch at 60.

Fuller is a 23 year-old rebounding defender from Norwood, while Honeychurch is a small forward/midfielder from the Eastern Ranges.

Brett Goodes was upgraded from the rookie list at pick 84.
